On November 26, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a symposium calling for investment in solid waste treatment by burning-electricity technology.

City Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan; Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong; representatives from central ministries; leaders of 18 provinces and cities in the South; scientists and solid waste disposal businesses attended. According to the report of waste situation in Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the city has three types of rubbish: solid waste daily, industrial waste – hazardous and medical waste. In particular, the volume of domestic waste is 8,700 tons / day and is buried 76%, equivalent to 6,600 tons, 14,7% was converted into compost and 9,3% burned.
